I'm not a professional so don't take my word to the dot but this is what I think...
1) The grain is way too much and has turned to noise..
2) Although the mood is alright.. I think its too dark, wrong f-stop or shutter speed or both.
3) B/W is beautiful but the colours are all blend together is some areas and in most black stands out way too strongly therefore erasing the little details a great deal
very nice ...

It's all about preference. I like the grain.
It makes it mysterious... When I stare at the picture its like the fog can appear any moment.

Damn it was cold that evening...

it's as if someone were to just walk right through that edge going here.*paranoia*haha.
nah seriously.
it's great.^_^
Oooh a film shot. Very nice!

Very gloomy. Seems like the shot before the storm!
As someone else stated: it's all about personal preference. I love the concept, the angle and the black and white. The lighting looks very mysterious and the negative space is something I always like. I like the reflection on the wood and the border which makes the darker colors even more strong and the entire photo more 'one'.
But yeah, the grain is a little too much for my likings, but all in all, it's a great shot =)
