Actually ... I have planned soo many things and haven't done any of them.
But life was good, still is good and will be good.
Photography ... sometimes .. the urge sometimes is there, but the ideas are like a web inside my brain.
Too many things and can't choose.
Should just start again ... ah well

  • Yes ... errrr ...

I'm still alive ... very much even

but ...

life is busy, but very good, infact, couldn't get any better

except for .. yup, photography

40D is in my head, really need a new camera of my own again that works ..

But anyways .. news, yes

Let's begin

3 weeks ago I went to the Canon EOS Discovery Tour in Utrecht, at the session I attended 500 people were present and all send in their own personal favorite photo (cool part follows). So at the event they anounced the 400D, 40D, 5D and 1Ds Mark III, lots of tech stuff but also workshops (we could test ALL Canon lenses available coooool). So at the event, Patricia Steur was present who is a very famous dutch photographer in the field of Tattoo's, Rock Artists, etc. She explained how she made carreer, how she made her photo, even did an example. Out of all the photos that got send in, she picked 7 photos which she loved the most and discussed about them and had the people that took it explain why and how they took this photo. So I see the first two photos pass, two really beautiful photos (like droolstyle beautiful) and then all of a sudden, the third photo ... howly shit, that's my photo.
I was one of the 7 out of 500 to get selectedm and I got selected with 6 O'Clock (which is my favorite and on the frontpage). I was very excited I was one of them, untill I got the microphone and had to explain in front of 500 people why and how I took that picture ... sweat broke out in parts I never knew before I could get sweaty.

but yes, all in all ... übercool experience

so in short ...

new camera soon
new photos on here soon

and yes, I promise, I will become more active

it's one of my new years ideas thingies ;)

Take care for now

oh and eh, really miss a few people in here, so I hope you can forgive me for still being a bit abscent

Hello friends, and fellow deviants

I've been away for a long long time and this is not a journal to say I'm back, but a bit more to let you know I'm still alive :D

The past months have been very hectic, preparing everything for the move, applying for a new job and all sorts of other things.

So there it was, 1 august, the official day I moved in with maria and also the day I started my new job.

So for the first part, we're both very happy. No more hectic driving from Belgium to the Netherlands, but just being able to be with eachother every single day and night. God I love it.

The new job, well yes, after 8 years at my previous job I now have a new job. It was a very hard -say goodbye- leave at my previous job because it was at a very familiar base, they were kinda like my second parents, but we planned to stay in touch. The new job is really cool, full time developper. My new collegues are very friendly and open, plus I work in a castle now :D it's amazing.

My new workplace

Oh, my Nikon D70 DIED!!! on me, I still haven't been able to drop it off in a store, but it's just dead, I can't turn it on anymore :(

So for now, I'm going to reply to all of my comments, and I'll make sure I'm back asap.

How're you guys (and girls :) ) doing ???????

Love,
Lucas

ages ago ..

when I used to browse deviantart everyday ....

It feels indeed like ages ago. A lot of things are kinda keeping me off.
A really unrythmic life at the moment, constantly switching between belgium and the netherlands ...

BUT !

That's all going to change soon, as it'll become full-time the netherlands .. bye bye dear antwerp ... hello sweet and lovable maria

So yes, in the evenings I'm mostly saying a small goodbye to places I'll miss, but in the end, not that much because I'll have something much better in the place.
So not much of computer time for me these days, plus the fact that work has been busy lately so I don't really feel like doing loads of computer work in the evening.
AND !!! the fact that my Nikon D70 .. died .. it just DIED .. I was playing around with my lenses and all of a sudden it didn't react anymore. So I turned it off and ..
and .. it never turned back on again. So yeah, as soon as I'm settled in, I'll carry it to the shop and have it checked. Of course out of warranty argh.

Oh and I'm thinking of getting myself a Polaroid camera .. still fall in love with the effect of it

So a short stop to say Hi to all the people I miss, say thanks to all the people that are still favving my work :blowkiss:

Hope you're all doing well.

Drop a word :)

Take care for now
Love,
Lucas
